How do you make sure BeauxJewelryLab jewelry is high quality?
Every BeauxJewelryLab piece is handcrafted in limited batches by expert artisans in Panyu, Guangdong—the soul of world-class jewelry making.
We are obsessed with the details. That's why each item undergoes four strict manual quality checks by our in-house experts. If a design isn't flawless, it never leaves our workshop. We use thicker-than-standard plating for lasting durability, cutting out the filler materials and inflated prices other brands rely on.
Beautifully secured in our signature packaging, our jewelry is crafted with care, made with purpose, and designed to shine alongside you for a lifetime.
What kind of gemstone you use in your jewelries?
Our collections are brought to life using a beautiful array of metals, such as 925 sterling silver and 10K/14K/18K gold. When it comes to gemstones, we believe in the perfect pairing. We select each stone based on the jewelry’s design style, production techniques, latest trends, and accessibility. But no matter the stone, we meticulously hand-select only the top-tier quality of that specific gem. Here is a closer look at the stones we love to use and the quality standards they must meet:
1. The Diamond & Brilliance Collection
We offer a spectrum of brilliance to suit every design and budget, never compromising on the cut and fire.
-
Natural Diamonds: Ethically sourced and conflict-free. We select natural diamonds with exceptional brilliance, typically adhering to strict minimums of SI1+ clarity and G-H color, ensuring your investment pieces offer breathtaking, lifetime sparkle.
-
Lab-Grown Diamonds: Physically, chemically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. We meticulously select premium lab-grown diamonds (VVS/VS clarity, D-F color) for an eco-conscious, accessible, yet uncompromisingly luxurious choice.
-
Moissanite: Born from the stars, Moissanite boasts a refractive index higher than a diamond, offering ultimate fire and brilliance. We exclusively use top-tier, VVS clarity, and D-Color Moissanite stones for flawless, everyday luxury.
-
Cubic Zirconia: For our fashion-forward and trend pieces, we strictly utilize premium 5A-grade Cubic Zirconia and 8A-grade High-carbon Diamond. Each stone is expertly machine-cut to mimic the exact proportions and light reflection of a flawless diamond.
2. The Pearl & Shell Collection
From the depths of the ocean to masterful human innovation, we select pearls renowned for their radiant luster.
-
Saltwater Pearls: Including premium Akoya, Tahitian, and South Sea pearls. We hand-select these treasures for their incredibly thick nacre, mirror-like luster, and perfectly smooth surfaces.
-
Freshwater Pearls: Sourced from the finest farms, our freshwater pearls are chosen for their beautiful natural hues, AAA-grade luster, and unique, organic shapes that bring a romantic touch to our designs.
-
Simulated Pearls (Swarovski & Shell Pearls): When a design requires perfect uniformity and exceptional durability, we use high-end Swarovski crystal pearls or shell-based pearls. They offer a flawless, scratch-resistant finish with the weighty feel of a natural pearl.
-
Natural Shell: Featuring genuine Mother of Pearl. We carefully carve and polish these natural shells to reveal their captivating iridescence and milky, subtle sheen.
3. The Precious & Classic Gemstones
The timeless classics, celebrated for their vivid saturations, hardness, and rarity.
-
Corundum - Sapphire & Ruby: Ranked 9 on the Mohs scale. We select our rubies and sapphires for their rich, deep color saturation and excellent clarity, ensuring they remain heirloom-quality centerpieces.
-
Beryl - Emerald & Aquamarine: Beloved for their distinct hues. We carefully evaluate our beryl stones—embracing the beautiful, natural 'jardin' (inclusions) in emeralds, while demanding icy, eye-clean transparency in aquamarines.
-
Chrysoberyl: A rare and highly durable gem. We source chrysoberyl specifically for its mesmerizing optical phenomena, including striking cat's-eye effects and dramatic color changes.
-
Spinel: A historically revered gem. We love spinel for its natural, unheated brilliance and highly saturated reds, pinks, and blues that rival the world's finest precious stones.
-
Tourmaline: Available in a breathtaking rainbow of colors. We select tourmalines with strong pleochroism (showing different colors from different angles) and excellent clarity to make our bold designs pop.
-
Garnet: Sourced in its untreated, natural state. We look for deep, romantic reds, vibrant greens (Tsavorite), and excellent light return to highlight its natural fire.
4. The Ethereal & Textural Gemstones
Stones chosen for their mesmerizing optical effects and unique natural textures.
-
Feldspar - Moonstone & Labradorite: Selected for their enchanting play-of-color. We meticulously cut these stones to maximize their blue adularescence (moonstone flash) and striking labradorescence.
-
Quartz & Crystal: Including Amethyst, Citrine, and clear Quartz. We use expertly faceted, eye-clean quartz to bring vibrant, transparent pops of color to our everyday fine jewelry.
-
Agate & Chalcedony: Featuring Moss Agate, Blue Agate, Yellow Agate, South Red Agate, and White Chalcedony. We hand-pick these for their rich, semi-opaque colors, durability, and the stunning, one-of-a-kind natural banding and moss-like inclusions.
-
Obsidian: Including Black, Icy, and Red Obsidian. Sourced from volcanic glass, these stones are polished to a high-gloss finish, offering a sleek, mysterious, and modern edge.
5. The Specialty & Earthy Gemstones
A curated selection of unique, vibrant, and spiritually significant stones to complement specific design visions.
-
The Blues & Purples: Tanzanite (prized for its violet-blue pleochroism), Turquoise (selected for its pure robin's-egg blue and natural matrix), Cordierite/Iolite (the "water sapphire"), Apatite, Topaz, and Celestite.
-
The Greens: Peridot (vibrant olive greens), Chrome Diopside (rich, forest greens), and Jadeite/Jade (symbolizing purity and grace, selected for its smooth, translucent texture).
-
The Pinks & Reds: Spodumene/Kunzite (delicate pastel pinks), Rhodonite (rosy pinks with dramatic black veining), Red Jasper, and precious Jade Coral.
-
The Rare & Unique: Taaffeite (one of the rarest gems in the world), Danburite (exceptional clarity and dispersion), Fluorite (mesmerizing color-zoning), Tiger's Eye (captivating golden chatoyancy), and Aventurine (subtle shimmering effects).
-
Our Standard for Specialty Stones: No matter how rare or common the mineral, our quality control team ensures every single stone is crack-free, richly colored, and polished to absolute perfection before it is set into your BeauxJewelryLab piece.
How long does the plating last?
Understanding Our Plating & Materials: We use thicker plating and finish them with a protective clear coat.
For 925 Sterling Silver jewelry, the rhodium plating thickness is 0.1 microns, and the gold plating thickness is 0.2 microns, ensuring long-lasting luster, while most others only electroplated at 0.03 - 0.05 microns, which is prone to fading. This means superior resistance against daily fading, tarnishing, and scratching, so you can wear your favorites with confidence.
Please refert to the instruction of the following table for the lifespan of different base materials/plating types.
| Base Material | Plating Type | Lifespan: Daily Wear | Lifespan: Occasional Wear |
| 925 Sterling Silver | 14K / 18K Yellow Gold | 6 to 12 Months | 1 to 2 Years+ |
| 925 Sterling Silver | 14K / 18K Rose Gold | 6 to 12 Months | 1 to 2 Years+ |
| 925 Sterling Silver | Rhodium (White Gold finish) | 1 to 2 Years | 2 to 3 Years+ |
| 10K/14K/18K Solid Gold | Rhodium (White Gold finish) | 1 to 3 Years | 3 Years to Lifetime |
| 10K/14K/18K Solid Gold | Yellow / Rose Gold | Lifetime (Solid color throughout) | Lifetime (Solid color throughout) |
Will my BeauxJewelryLab jewelry pieces' plating fades?
It is completely natural for any plated jewelry to experience wear over time due to friction, natural skin oils, and exposure to water. The good news? Your BeauxJewelryLab pieces are crafted from high-quality precious metals (925 Silver and Solid Gold) at their core, meaning they can always be restored to their original brilliance.
Here is exactly how you can bring your pieces back to life, depending on the base material:
| Base Material | What Happens When It Wears? | Restoration Method | Difficulty & Recommendation |
| 925 Silver (Gold Plated) | Silver core becomes visible. | Professional Re-plating | Moderate. Needs a jeweler; consider if the cost is worth it for everyday pieces. |
| Solid Yellow/Rose Gold | Does not fade. | N/A (Just needs a polish!) | Zero. A simple polishing cloth will keep it shining forever. |
| Solid White Gold | Warm, yellowish-gold tint appears. | Rhodium Dipping | Very Easy. Standard, affordable maintenance at any local jeweler. |
While we do not currently offer in-house re-plating services, we highly recommend supporting your local independent jewelers for routine maintenance and re-dipping.
Are your settings secure?
The security of our gemstones is a top priority. Unlike mass-produced jewelry that often relies on cheap adhesives, every single stone at BeauxJewelryLab is meticulously wax setting or hand-set by our experienced artisans in Panyu. We utilize secure, traditional techniques such as prong, bezel, and pavé settings to ensure the stones stay exactly where they belong.
Furthermore, each piece must pass our rigorous 4-step manual quality control process before it leaves the workshop. Please note: While our settings are crafted to the highest structural standards, fine jewelry is still delicate. We recommend treating your pieces with care, as hard impacts or snagging on heavy fabrics can occasionally bend a metal prong over time.
